According to data from the European Photovoltaic Industry Association, Poland's new installed solar modeuls capacity in 2019 ranked fifth in Europe with 784 MW, which is only 300 MW different from the fourth installed capacity in France. As of the end of 2018, the cumulative installed solar panels capacity in Poland was only 486 MW.Bloomberg New Energy Finance even predicted at the beginning of the year that this year, Poland will be among the top ten photovoltaic markets in the world by 2020.
According to the IEO report, it is expected that by the end of this year, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaics in Poland will increase from 1.5 GW at the end of 2019 to around 2.5 GW.Afterwards, according to the Polish government’s extension of the project execution period to May 2021, investments will be shifted to larger projects during 2021-2022 to help photovoltaic developers cope with the new coronary pneumonia epidemic crisis.
