NextEra Energy Resources, a US wholesale power supplier, recently stated that it will complete the deployment of a 700MW battery energy storage system with an installed capacity of the signed contract within two years, and plans to develop and deploy a 2GW battery energy storage system in California during this period.
The California Public Utilities Commission has approved the company's announced total installed capacity of 523MW battery energy storage projects. The contracts for these projects are signed between NextEra and utilities Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) and Southern California Edison Electric.
